Throughput

Throughput
Throughput also knows network throughput. The Throughput is the average rate of successful message delivery over a communication channel. This data may be delivered over a physical or logical link, or pass by a certain network node. It is the sum of the data rates that are rescue to all terminals in a network. Throughput is basically substitutable to digital bandwidth consumption.

The throughput can be analyzed mathematically by means of stand theory, where the load in packets per time unit is denoted arrival rate λ, and the output in message per time unit is denoted departure rate μ.

The amount of data transferred from one place to another or compute in a determine amount of time. Data transfer magnitude for disk drives and networks are measured in terms of throughput. Generally, throughputs are measured in kbps, Mbps and Gbps.
