What is Perfusionist?
The perfusionist, Also Famous clinical perfusionist, is a trained health professional who function the heart-lung machine throughout cardiac surgery and other surgeries that require cardiopulmonary bypass. The perfusionist’s main obligation is to support the physiological and metabolic inevitably of the cardiac surgical patient so that the cardiac surgeon may function on a still, unbeating heart.
Perfusion refers to the flow of blood through the vessels of the body, on its way to the capillary beds in various tissues which receive bloodflow. Perfusion is the science pertains with the distribution and transsemination of nutrient-rich blood during the body. Frequently throughout cardiac surgery it is necessary to temporarily suspend the normal introduction function of the heart and lungs while the surgeon operates on the heart or aorta
Perfusionists can be involved in a number of cardiac surgical procedures, select vascular procedures and a few other surgical procedures in an ancillary role.
