Hiatal hernia is a condition, where the upper part of the stomach pushes up into the chest, by a possibility in the diaphragm. 1. Do not drink water while having your meal. Drink water either half an hour before or after your meal.
2. Avoid bending after your meals. If you must bend avoid bending to your right as that promotes heartburn.
3. You can have an antacid if you feel you might experience heartburn.
4. Avoid wearing clothes which constrict your stomach.
5. While sleeping, keep your head and shoulder at an incline.
6. Avoid foods which cause acid reflux by following a GERD diet.
7. Do not lie down after your meal. At least for an hour sit up straight after your meals. If possible go for a stroll, this will prevent acid reflux disease.
Hiatal Hernia Diet Food
Upon arising:
A glass of lukewarm water with half a freshly squeezed lime and a teaspoon of honey.
Breakfast:
Fresh fruits and a glass of milk, sweetened with honey,
Lunch:
Steamed vegetables as obtainable, 2 or 3 whole wheat tortilla and a glass of buttermilk.
Mid-afternoon:
A glass of fresh fruit or vegetable juice.
Dinner:
A bowl of fresh green vegetable salad, with limejuice dressing, sprouted seeds and fresh homemade cottage cheese or a glass of buttermilk.
Bedtime:
A glass of fresh milk or an apple.
