What is Geneticist?
Genetics is the science of genes, heredity, and the variation of organisms. Although the science of genetics began with the applied and theoretical work of Gregor Mendel in the mid-1800s, other theories of inheritance succeed Mendel. Genes encode the information necessity for synthesizing proteins, which, in turn play a large role in influencing, although, in many instances, do not totally determine, the final phenotype of the organism.

Genetics is also utilized to explore genetically-inherited disease, and to influence whether or not people are more susceptible to certain diseases because of their genetic code. Some people have also theorized that genetics may play a role in behavior, with certain people being predisposed to depression, addiction, and other behavioral issues.
