Opt-In Email

Opt-In Email
Opt in e-mail is a word used when someone is given the choice to receive “bulk” e-mail, that is, e-mail that is transferred to many people at the same time. Generally, this is some sort of sending list, newsletter, or advertising. Getting permission before transferring e-mail is vital because without it, the e-mail is Unsolicited Bulk Email, better known as spam.

Types of Opt-In Email
There are various common forms of opt-in e-mail:
Confirmed opt-in (COI): A new customer first gives his/her address to the list software, but no steps are taken to make sure that this address really belongs to the person.
Unconfirmed opt-in: A new customer asks to be purchased to the mailing list, but unlike unconfirmed opt-in, an information e-mail is sent to pronounce it was actually them.
