Insect parasitic nematodes are small, round worms that complete biological control part of their life cycle in insects. Various species can kill insects in this process, and some are marketed as an agent. Insect parasitic worms have been analyzed for potential biological control of turf pests for more than 50 years. Insect parasitic nematodes are also known as predator worms, beneficial nematodes or entomogenous nematodes.

Infective juvenile nematodes in soil enter insect body through natural openings.
Nematodes enter insect body cavity.
Nematodes develop into adults.
Nematodes reproduce and produce offspring.
Infective juvenile nematodes leave the dead insect and seek a new insect host.
