Soot
What is Soot?
Soot is a fine black to brown powder which is organized through incomplete burning. Soot is a general term that denotes to impure carbon particles resulting from the incomplete combustion of a hydrocarbon. Soot is also known as lampblack or carbon black. Carbon black is also expended in solutions for laser printers and copiers.
It is more properly controlled to the product of the gas-phase burning process but is usually furnished to include the residual pyrolyzed fuel particles. In order to form soot, an article must be destroyed at a relatively low temperature with a decreased supply of oxygen. Soot, as an airborne material in the situation has many different facilities but they are all the result of some form of pyrolysis.
