A brainstem glioma is a destructive glioma tumor in the neural structure. They are almost frequently detected in children under the age of twenty but have been recognized to affect adults as well. Brainstem gliomas begin in the brain or spinal fabric tisssue and generally extend throughout the nervous scheme. Brainstem gliomas are frequently main brain tumors, and rarely metastasize, or spread, to pretend another part of the body.

The brain stem consists of the midbrain, pons and medulla settled mysterious in the later part of the brain. Tumors that arise along these structures are named brain stem gliomas. Most brain stem gliomas happen in the pons. The pontine tumors have a poorer prospect than the less common midbrain and medullary gliomas.
