What is Jicama?
The other major form of vines is also indigenous within the Americas. The jícama vine can reach a height of 4-5 metres given suitable support. Jicama is a crispy, sweet, edible root that resembles a turnip in physical quality, although the plants are not linked. Jicama is actually a legume, and it grows on vines that may reach 20 feet (six meters) in length. Jicama will keep under therapy for up to two weeks.
Jicama looks like to a root vegetable or a large root, and it can be used as a possibility to the water chestnut. Its skin is thin and can be gray, tan, or brown in color. Jicama is a very variable vegetable that contains a high amount of vitamin C, is low in sodium, and has no fat. Make sure that the jicama has an unblemished skin and that is not bruised. Jicama, also known as yam bean or Mexican turnip, developed south of the border. It’s a cousin of the sweet potato and has a crisp, sweet taste. Jicama is often sold as a street food, perfect when sprinkled with lime juice and chili powder.
