What is incentive spirometer?
An incentive spirometer is an examination device used to help patients improve the functioning of their lungs. The patient breathes in from the device as slowly and as profoundly as possible. The patient is generally asked to do many repetitions a day while measuring his or her progress by way of the gauge.

This means that an incentive spirometer measures how well you are satisfying your lungs with each breath. An incentive spirometer, or IS, is a device used to measure how much air can go into your lungs. It is made up of a resting tube, an air chamber, and an indicator.
