Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur, also mentioned to as NIT, Nagpur, is one of the first six Regional Engineering Colleges launched under the strategy patronized by Government of India and the Maharashtra State Government & is also one of the Institutes of National Importance for India. It was launched in June 1960 with the first six Regional Engineering Colleges establish in different parts of the country for encouraging technical education. Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT)is one of the 20 National Institutes of Technology Engineering Colleges founded by the Indian Government.

A candidate should have a Master’s Degree with minimum 55% marks from any recognized University.
Selection process
Candidates are selected on the basis of their performance in PhD Entrance Examination and an interview to be held at VNIT.
