Unversity of pune is the main educational center of Maharashtra. The  Department  of  Chemistry is  one  of  the  earliest  department  to be established  by  the University  of  Pune  in  April 1950. Department of Chemistry is rated as one of the best in the country for its teaching and research activities. Department of Chemistry has received large funds from the University Grants Commission (UGC). Department of Chemistry is rated as one of the best in the country for its teaching and research activities and has been selected as Centre for Advanced Studies in Chemistry.

Eligibility
The candidate from the open category with 50% marks and reserved category with 45% and having Chemistry/ Biochemistry as one of the subjects at T. Y. B. Sc. Level can apply.

Admission process
Application fees (non-refundable and non-transferable) should be in the form DD Payable to the “The Registrar University of Pune, Pune-411007″, drawn on any national bank for Rs 500/- for Open Category and Rs 350/- for SC, ST, DTNT and OBC candidates of Maharashtra state.
