Kansas Graduation Requirements
As stated by the Kansas Department of Education, students will be qualified for high school graduation later finishing the following requirements:
Four units in English and one in language arts. (School administrators may waive up to one unit if it is decided that a pupil can learn more by taking a various subject.)
Three units of social studies (which must include one unit U.S. History and 1/2 unit of U.S. Government. The U.S. establishment and Kansas history and government are subjects expected to be covered.) Two science units, one must be a lab program ,two mathematics units ,One physical education unit (PE requirement can be waived if a licensed physician attests that a student is mentally or physically incapable or participation. It can also be waived if the PE requirement violates the student’s religious teachings – proof must be furnished in a written statement from the student’s lawful guardian.) Nine elective units.
