JIPMER MBBS Entrance Exam
The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER) is one amongst the top 5 medical schools in India and is situated in Puducherry. JIPMER admits hundred students to the MBBS course once every year by an All-India entrance examination. For the Undergraduate MBBS, the Entrance Examination is held at Pondicherry, Chennai, Hyderabad, New Delhi, Calcutta and Tiruvananthapuram. JIPMER MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) is conceived to be the primary medical degree in India and is mandatory for all students who wish to build a career in allopathic medicine. Entrance examinations are held once a year and invites applications are declared in all major newspapers in India as well as on the official website. The syllabus for JIPMER-MBBS Entrance Examination is based on the pattern followed by the CBSE and other boards for 11th and 12th standard. The question paper consists of the following parts.

Course Duration: 5 Years
Eligibility Criteria for Admission:
Candidates should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology with atleast 50% aggregate marks in PCB (40% for SC/ST). Those who are appearing for class 12th exams in 2010 can also apply.

Last Date for Issue of application (Postal request & On-line : Second week of April, 2011
Last Date for receipt of completed applications (Both Off-line & On-line): Mid April, 2011
Date of JIPMER Entrance Examination: First week of June, 2011.
How to apply:
Admission to the JIPMER MBBS course is made every year. Call for applications will be declared around February every year and all major news papers in India will carry the announcement. Application form and prospectus will be available in JIPMER and can be obtained in person or by post by paying the prescribed fee in cash or by bank demand draft.
