Xavier Institute of Social Service is an educational institute in Ranchi, India. It was Brought about or set up or accepted; especially long established as an extension department of St. Xavier’s College, Ranchi, in 1955 with the objective of training young men and women in Rural Development, Personnel Management and Industrial Relations. In 1973 the institute was registered as a separate educational society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 Applications are invited for Admission Academic Session January 2011 to the following Academic Programmes of the Institute.

Eligibility:
Admission to the courses is open to graduates who have completed the three years of Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline recognized by a university or deemed university. Those completing their final examination by June, 2008 may also apply.

Admission process:
The Institute follows a three-stage admission procedure
The candidates must qualify in the all India level written examination, XLRI admission test XAT. Cut off scores for XAT are released and applications invited.
Qualifying students are called for a group discussion (GD) where a candidate’s ability to understand and analyze situations, communicate ideas, and take decisions along with personality traits such as initiative, team spirit and leadership skills are tested.
Candidates have to finally pass through the rigorous personal interview session conducted by a panel comprising of experts from both academics and industry.
