Pune University conducts Entrance Exam 2011 for admission to MCA and M.Sc (Computer Science) program in several institutes under Pune University.

Eligibility Criteria for Pune University MCA Entrance Exam 2011:
For MCA: The examinee must have a graduate’s degree in science (or BCA) with Maths at 10+2 Stage.
For M.Sc (Computer Science): The examinee must have a graduate’s degree in Computer Science. Those in the final year of their graduation can also apply.
Mathematics Syllabus:
Set Theory: Set operations, relations, functions.
Propositional Logic: Formulation, deduction, evaluation, puzzles.
Linear Algebra: Solution of a system of linear equations. Determinant and inverse of a matrix, basic properties of matrices.
Co-ordinate Geometry and Conic Sections: Equations of lines and planes, vector products; definitions and properties of conic sections.
Trigonometry: Identities, computation of heights and lengths.
Differential Calculus: Total and partial differentiation, limit of a function.
Integral Calculus: Definite and indefinite integrals, solution of differential equations, computation of areas and volumes.
Series and Sequences: sum, mean, convergence, limit.
Key Dates (Tentative):
1st week of February, 2011 will be Last Date of receiving completed application form
Last week of February, 2011 will be Date of Pune University MCA Entrance Exam

Real and Complex Numbers: surds, solution of equations on complex domain.
Polynomials: solution of quadratic equations, properties of roots of polynomials with real coefficients, binomial expansion, Taylor series.
Permutations and Combinations.
Elementary Probability Theory: Computing probability from combinatorial reasoning, conditional probability.
Application Forms:
Application forms will be available directly from the University or through sending a DD of any Nationalized Bank that is to be drawn in favour of ‘The Registrar, University of Pune’, payable at Pune. Examinees can also transfer the form by the Pune University official website (www.unipune.ernet.in).
Selection Procedure:
Selection based on entrance exam, Group Dissection and Personal Interview.
