Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering IIT GATE
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2011 is an all India examination administered and directed jointly through the Indian Institute of Science and seven Indian Institutes of Technology on behalf of the National Coordination Board – GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Indian Govt.
GATE is directed by the constitution of 8 following zones:
Indian Institute of Science Bangalore
Indian Institute of Technology Bombay
Indian Institute of Technology Delhi
Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati
Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur
Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur
Indian Institute of Technology Madras
Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee
Eligibility for IIT- Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering 2011:
Graduate’s degree holders in Engineering/Technology/Architecture (four years after 10+2) and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes.
Master’s degree holders in any branch of Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications or equal and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes.
IIT GATE 2011 Application Forms
Application Form and Information Brochure 2011 can be obtained on cash payment of suggested fee from the designated Bank Branches corresponding to each zone. Application Form can also be obtained from the zonal GATE Offices after handing over DD for the appropriate amount.
Key Dates (Tentative):
Last week of January, 2011 will be Date of ONLINE examination
Mid of February, 2011 will be Date of OFFLINE examination
Please note that the dates are only tentative and are not final. The post will be updated as soon as the dates are officially released.
Selection Procedure:
Selection based on GATE entrance exam, Group Dissection and Personal Interview.
How to Apply:
Examinees can refer Application Form in 2 different modes like Online and Offline. The preferred mode of application process is Online.
