The computed Committee of Parliament recommended the arranging of a Services Selection Commission for carrying on examinations to enroll staffs for central government departments in its 47th Reports (1967-68).It was renamed as Staff Selection Commission (SSC) on September 26, 1977. The Staff Selection Commission makes enlisting to non-technical group ‘C’ and group ‘B’ non published posts in Ministries/ Departments. The SSC is guided by a Chairman with 2 Members & a Secretary-cum-Controller of Examinations.
