The Centurion Municipality was announced as the Salem City Municipal Corporation from 1st June, 1994. The Salem City Municipal Council met its Centenary in 1966. Salem Corporation comprises of sixty wards categorized under four Zonal Offices namely Suramangalam Zonal, Ammapet Zonal, Hasthampatty Zonal, Kondalampatty Zonal. Each Zonal Office has its personal Zonal Chairman and an Asst. Commisioner to get care of Zonal actions.
