Institute Of Science Bangalore

The Institute Of Science Bangalore (or Indian Institute of Science (IISc)) was thought as a ‘Research Institute’ or ‘University of Research’ through Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata, in the twilight years of the nineteenth century. The institute located in Bengaluru city (formerly known Bangalore) in Karnataka state in India.

A long time period of almost 13 years was to elapse from the initial conception in the year of 1896 to the birth of the Indian Institute of Science on May 27/05/1909. As the Institute has developed, different new fields of research have been founded many of them for the 1st time in the country. The IISc started with only 2 sections: General and Applied Chemistry and Electro-Technology.

The Institute’s sections in areas ranging from Biochemistry to Aerospace Engineering have served to nucleate research and growth in both the public and private sectors.

Degrees
Degrees provided through the institute may be broadly classified into 2 categories: Degrees through degrees through coursework (ME/MTech/MBA/MDes) and. Research (PhD, integrated PhD, and MS (Engg.)). The Center for Product Design and Manufacturing provides the Master of Design course. Began in the year of 1996, the MDes curriculum is a 2-year, regular graduate curriculum.
