What is Kleptomania?
Kleptomania is an overwhelming urge to steal items of trivial value. Kleptomania was first formally accepted in the US as a mental disorder in the 1960s in the case of the state of California v. Douglas Jones. Kleptomania is commonly idea of as part of the obsessive-compulsive disorder spectrum, although issue evidence propose that it may be more same to habit-forming and mood disorders. In particular, this disorder is frequently co-morbid with substance use disorders, and it is common for mortal with kleptomania to have first-degree relatives who suffer from a substance use disorder.

Causes
The cause of kleptomania is stranger, although it may have a genetic constituent and may be heritable among first-degree relatives. There also seems to be a firm tendency for kleptomania to coexist with obsessive-compulsive disorder, bulimia nervosa, and clinical depression.
