Miacids was also knows as Miacidae were early carnivores which lived throughout the Paleocene and Eocene Epoch about 65—33 million years ago. Miacids lived in Eurasia and North America, inhabiting the nearly international figurative forests that thrived before the Ice Age set in about 23 million years ago. Miacids live for approximately 32 million years. Miacids are opinion to have evolved into today’s modern carnivorous mammals of the order Carnivora.
Miacids were between the first mammals to formulate teeth for the shearing and tearing of meat, a feature retained by all modern carnivorans. Miacids were one of the first mammalian carnivores. Mammals had existed for tens of millions of years before the extinction of the dinosaurs, but they were generally small, rodent or shrew-like herbivores and detrivores that run around at night, trying to avoid being eaten by the numerous, alarming carnivorous dinosaurs all over.
