Public health Quarantine is a quantity which is designed to keep the spread of infectious disease. Quarantine is defined as a restriction of the activities of healthy persons or animals that have been exposed to a communicable disease. The objective of Quarantine is to prevent transmission of the disease from potentially infected persons to healthy persons during the incubation period.
This is particularly real with a disease which has no well-known cure, since the escape of the disease into the general population could be catastrophic. A short list of infections merit quarantine and the diseases on the list consider things like Ebola, smallpox, and other extremely unpleasant infectious diseases.
